(1)- I love journalism! I know that one day it will be such a joy to look back on what the Lord has been teaching me.

(2)- I just turned 19 today!!!! (Maybe that should of been on the top.:P) I had a wonderful Birthday! You just ought to see all the sweet cards that my siblings made me.

(3)- My siblings and I were watching the Voyage of the Dawn Treader this evening! (My younger sister Abbie could not resist getting it.)

Aslan: [from trailer] You have returned for a reason. Your adventure begins now.

The only reason that I enjoy it is because I do not compare it to the book. Otherwise I would dislike it. :)

I am so happy that Spring is finely here. I just with that I was able to be outside more! Hopefully it will still be warm when I get home from he conference.

Timmy is in the spotlight again in these pictures I know that it is crazy I do have eleven siblings after all. :) I have a feeling that you won't mind though, he is so cute. :)

Dear friends,

Well, here I am again.... Another wonderful day.

(1)- I really have been enjoying spending time with my family lately. Me and my Dad had been spending some special time together.

(2)-Mom has been out of town for a few days now. She has been vacationing with my grandparents and brothers in Death Valley and Zion National Park.

(3)- I had a wonderful time in our Good News Club today.

(4) - My favorite classical music artist is Clementi. I am looking forward to getting some (Here is a link to his music) of his music for my birthday. (Go to the bottom of the page for samples of his music.) What is your favorite artist?

(5)- I am looking forward to working on my sewing business as soon as life takes a more calm pace.

(6)- My older sister Micah is coming with my Dad and brother and I on the conference. I am looking forward to spending some sister-time with her.

It's that time of the week again, rather hectic I will agree that everyday has it good points...even Mondays :).

(1)- I have really been enjoying preparing for my sewing business. It is hard but I sure do enjoy sewing!

(2)- I am looking forward to an upcoming conference that my Dad, older sister( I hope :) and I am going to attend. I am so excited!!!!

(3)- I have been enjoying the bit if rain that we had today. We did not get much but I love riding home in the rain( in the car of course;)

(4)- I can't wait to sew a new dress tomorrow.

(5)- I am looking forward to our Spring break starting on Wednesday.

I am planning on start my own home business selling homemade dresses and other crafts. I am so excited!!!

When I say planning I really mean in the planning phase. It is diffidently still in the planning phase I only decided that I was going to start it a few days ago(although I have thinking about it for awhile.) Anyway I just had to let someone know....

I know that you have not heard from me much lately. I have been very busy. Now that things have slowed down just a bit I am able to write again.

Wow!!! I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted here. It's kind of like what I used to do with my journal..:)

I have been very busy lately working on homework and such. I have also been helping to teach my younger siblings some subjects this year. I believe that it is so much fun to be able to teach them and in so doing give them a vision for life.

So what have you guys been doing? I hope that you have all had a wonderful new year so far. My year has been full of blessings and new experiences that I hope to learn from.

Yaaa.. I can be random again.

(1)- I have had a wonderfully full day today.

(2)- My older sister Micah is here on vacation! We are going to go out for some sister time tomorrow. I have enjoyed the time we have spent together. :)

(3)- I wish that I had more time in order to write in the evenings.

(4)- My mom has been recovering well after her surgery. Her hip still bothers her if she does to much walking so please keep her in your prayers.

(5)- My family has got a new movie to watch!

(6) - I was out driving on the highway a few days ago!!! It was not really that bad, just don't let the other cars draw you on , as my Dad puts it.

(7)- I have been working on my sourdough starter lately...

I will be able to make so many wonderful things with it! If you look at the tape on the first picture, that is how high it was when I feed it this morning but it has grown as you can see.

That means it is alive... the bubbles are so cute right..

(8)- I think I am done being random this evening....

The adventures of Fan..

Dear friends,

I am participating in the the Historical Costume Inspiration Festival!

It has been so much fun seeing other people's work!

So anyway here is my work.

It was inspired by ether the A&E Pride and Prejudice (2001) or the Pride and Prejudice with Keria Knightley (2005) . This costume is based on the Regency time period. I was happy to find it a year or so ago on the Sensibility.com website and have made several costumes with it over the past year or so. I'm not quite certain what kind of fabric it was made out of (I didn't pay much heed to that..) but it is a light fabric perfect for the summer.

I actually sewed this entirely by hand. It was a fun and relaxing way to work and I found that it helped me to do a better job in the end.

So without further ado...

Outside my window...The sun shinning beautifully thorough the green leafs of our trees in the front yard area.

That is the one thing that I miss during the winter. :P Jacob getting ready to pull in the front yard after a long day of work.

I am thinking... Of how much I would love some chocolate. :P I am also thinking of how much I still have to do today..

I am thankful for... Sunshine, family, and writing.

From the kitchen.. I think that we will be starting dinner soon but I am not sure what we are having.

I am wearing..A green shirt, flower skirt with green it, thin knee high socks and one flat. (The other I am not technically wearing as it is on the floor not my foot. :P)

I am creating... A novel that I have been working on since last school year.

I am going... Nowhere today that I know of.

I am reading... I am trying to read Inside the Victorian home by Judith Flanders and The Victorian frame of mind by Walter E. Houghton. As you can see I am reading these to get research done for my story.

I am hoping... To be able to spend sometime doing piano today.

I am hearing... The music of my blog in the background and my younger sibling making the usual amount of noise downstairs. :)

A few plans for the rest of the week... I am going to be working with my siblings on their homework and accomplishing some hobbies of my own as well as helping around the house.

I was up at 5:50 A.M. today. That's because my family was going to a race at Riverside.

We also had Dad, Jacob, and Caleb running in the race. (I did not get pictures of them before the race.Oops.)

The race so much fun to watch. They did wonderful . Jacob and Caleb were the first ones over in our family. (But Dad was running a longer route.)

My brothers Josh, Josiah, John, and Daniel were in this run. I think Daniel was the most excited of them all He counted down the days and even moments.

Dear friends,

I am sitting upstairs at my clean desk(my desk is not normally that free of books and other clutter :) A few days ago when I started to find my interest in art work I decided that I was not getting enough light in the little corner of my attic. That was a problem so I moved my desk to the window at the fount of my room. I get a lot more light a today even a nice breeze.

Aha.. don't you just love early Autumn?

I was enjoying the breeze when I got the sudden urge to post just to tell you how much I am enjoying life! Thus this post came about.

This morning I was working with my younger brother Daniel on his Heritage Studies. I was telling him about the Indians that lived on the plains when Christopher Columbus found America...

"So Daniel what could the Indians make their homes out of?" I asked the little student.

"Out of planes.(airplanes)." Daniel replied confidently. "Daniel they did not have planes back then." But you said they live in planes!"

That's why you have to ask little guys questions. ;)

I hope you have been having a wonderful day! My day has been o.k. so far. :)

I don't know if any of you have been following the news recently but I have and my heart aches at some of the things that I read. Particularly when I read about the major flooding that has hit the country of Pakistan .

My heart goes out to these poor people that do not have food, water or even the simple shelter of a tent. (While I have that and more) Also because of the extreme amount of water there is evidence that many children are in danger of picking up waterborne diseases.

Please read this news article and be willing to pray for the people of Pakistan.

I am thankful that America is able to give some aid, but I want to do more. Please pray!

~ If you would be willing to make a commitment to pray for Pakistan for the next week please leave me a comment and put a link to my post on your blog urging others to pray as well. ~

I know, the title is weird please do not panic when you read this post... :P

I was playing with one of my little bro Daniel this evening when he picked up my hand and kissed it saying "now we are married." To which I replied " Daniel just because you kiss someones hand does not mean that you are are married to that person." :P

He was not to be convinced though. I think that he has seen too many old fashioned movies were they do that and assumed that meant that they are got married as that moment. (Who knows what goes though those little brains :P)

I have really had an enjoyable day today!

My family and I have a wonderful time swimming at the pool earlier today.

It was so much fun! Mostly because the boys took it upon themselves to demonstrate what a belly flop looks like in the 10 foot area. :P Take it from me it was quite funny to watch them. They kept trying to get me to jump into the 10 foot half but I prefer to keep it safe. :)

After that we went home and this evening I spent a few minutes reading 'The Little House' to my little bros.

Well today is a new day! Truly it has not been that busy of a day today, but yesterday was. :P
I was busy the majority of the day working on cooking meatballs,bread and cleaning!(Even my room gets dirty ever so often. Please tell me your room gets dirty too. ;)

I was busy but I really enjoy the feeling of knowing that I have done a good job and helped my family out.

I don't really have that much going on today( although I am planning on working on some piano. I have been taking a break for a few days. I also want to do some writing.)

A magical trip... Part two...

Dear friends,

I hope you are having a good weekend so far. :)

Anyway here are some of the pictures that I promised you from my trip to London and France...

I hope you enjoy them and they give you a little taste of what life is like in Europe.

The first day of our trip(when we were doing all the traveling to get there) was the longest day of my life. I believe that was because I was suffering from jet lag. :( We were actually on two planes over the course of the day.

Look at those *Wonderful* white fluffy clouds... *Sigh* :)

This airplane was hanging from the roof of the Charlotte airport! It was pretty big and I decided that I needed to take a picture of it to show to my brothers. This airport was HUGE. I don't think that I have ever seen a bigger one in my life. If you need an idea of how big it was just let me tell you that there were moving sidewalks and cars you could take through the airport. :)

Our lay over was around eight hours!!!!

~~By the time we got to London we were all very tired so we did not do much more that day. Although we did go to see Phantom of the Opera.~~

A magical trip... Part one...

I hope you are all having a wonderful day! I have had a very entertaining past few weeks. I have been in Europe for the past almost two weeks!

To be specific I have been in France, London and even some parts around London. The trip was a graduation gift from my generous grandparents. I still can't really believe that I was in an entirely different country. It was a blast!!

I am so glad that I have such a wonderful mother.
She continually sacrifices for us day to day by staying at home to care for us and our wonderful father.

She is such a wonderful example of the proverbs 31 women.

Proverbs 31:27-29-

She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and bless her;
Her husband also, and he praises her saying: many daughters have done nobly, but you excel them all.

I am thinking- I am glad that Spring is finely here. :)

I am thankful for- Younger siblings and Spring....

From the learning rooms- Working on finishing up school for the year.

From the kitchen-I'm looking forward to making some wonderful sweet snacks this afternoon.

I am wearing- Some sandals, a skirt and a white shirt.

I am creating- I am working on writing a new novel.

I am going- Nowhere today..

I am reading-My Bible and some good Christan novels.

I am hoping- To head outside to write my book this afternoon.

I am hearing- Some wonderful sweet music on my computer. I am also hearing my family talking together.

Around the house- Some of my younger siblings are still at homework. Others are outside enjoying the Spring weather.

One of my favorite things- Spring flowers. I even like the kinds that are considered weeds.

A few plans for the rest of the week- Work on homework, do some gardening, and whatever else the Lord would have me do.

Dear friends,

I hope you have had a wonderful day! I only have one more day of this challenge! It has been a long one and I will be glad when I can get back to normal rate blogging. :) But never the less I have enjoyed doing it. It helps me to look and see how much I have to be grateful for.

I have also enjoyed taking some of my favorite pictures that I took this week and putting them in my journal to help me remember some of my favorite things that God has given me. :)

Today also marks the ninth birthday of my little brother Jon. I am so proud of the grown up boy he is becoming.

Busy Sunday....

Dear friends,

Today has been a very busy day! We have had some friends over for lunch and as always when you live in a big family there is a lot of cleaning and cooking to do. :)

Here are some pictures that I took today. (If you are planning on getting involved in the week long picture challenge this could be something what it looks like.)

Anyway most of us were working.
It depends on who you are talking about.

The work was calling me into the kitchen so I headed there to wash potatoes for a roast we were making for lunch.

In addition to the roast we also had some corn, chicken and (my personal favorite) brownies.
(I'm sorry am I making you hungry?:)

While I was doing this my very strong brother Gabe was....

....making interesting poses for me and....

....cutting up chicken(Daniel thinks it is gross.)

My younger siblings were also at this time mopping an helping to clean up the house.

After we were all done with this we were ready for our guests to come over! :)

The first 'I do'.

Dear Sisters in Christ,

I'm sure that we have all thought of it. When after years of longing we finely get to look into that special one of a kind guy's eyes and clearly speak the words ' I do'.

We all long for the moment that we can fully put our trust in someone have him be everything to us and we to be everything to him.

Did you ever think of the fact that you should be giving your first 'I do' to someone else? We should give our first ' I do' to Jesus. Think about it when you tell your true love I do you are telling him that you will be there to respect him, love him, and trust his guidance.

Let me be blunt with you. People will let you down. Even that special someone that you love.
God will never let us down. He wants to be everything to us. He wants us to trust him and give everything to him. God is the most wise person in the world we should first put our trust in Him. When we do that we will feel the peace that can only come from a trustful relationship with Him.

So what is the point of this post? We need give our first 'I do' to Jesus. Trust Him with your life, everything. When you are willing to give your 'I do' to Jesus and fully trust Him. The things that happen in your life will begin to make more sense.

I for one am going to give my first 'I do' to Jesus.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. I just wanted to show you some pictures that I have taken. A few days ago I was babysitting my siblings and so me and Timmy went for a walk to take pictures...

"Hold my hand Nana." (Nana is Timmy's name for me.) He is so cute! We do need to remember how important it is to cherish our siblings. The Lord knew what he was doing when he put us in the family that we are in.

Dear friends,

Wow it looks like I have already done 100 posts on this blog! My prayer is that they all gave glory to God and were not useless.

So does anyone have anything special that they did on their blog for their 100th post?

I have decided that for this special post I am going to

show you some pictures that I took today

~When I got up this morning I pulled myself out of bed only to
jump back in in order to take pictures out of the window.~

This is what the sky looked like....

~This is what our backyard looks like from my
window. If you look closely you can see the tracks
that our lawnmower made last time my brother mowed.~
(It's at the very bottom.)

~After I got downstairs I started to take pictures
of my little brothers. Here is Timmy and Daniel(In the
blue shirt).~

~To tell you the truth my siblings were not sitting still enough for me to take good
photos (or they have corny smiles) so I headed outside to take photos of something
that would sit still.~

~ After breakfast we headed off to work with momma
on memory verses. I am so grateful to my mom for teaching
us God's word.~

Today- April 19, 2010

Outside my window- Looking out the window in the front room I see wonderful blue sky, green trees and a purple red bud tree. Lovely....

I am thinking- If you were to record all that you said and thought all day would you be proud of it at the end of the day?

I am thankful for- The fact that it is so wonderful and green outside. Also that I have such a wonderful family...

I am wearing- A red sweater, a vintage looking skirt and some sandals.

I am reading- Five Little Peppers And How They grew by Margaret Sidney and plays by Shakespeare .
(I have a very old fashioned reading style right now. By the way I do not recommend all of Shakespeare's plays.Some of them are not that great.)

I am creating- Nothing at this point of time.

One of my favorite things- Old books.

For education this week- Work on finishing up homework for the year...

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning - Faithfully helping to clean up.

A spiritual lesson I’m learning- Trusting God's plan for my life.

A godly character trait I plan to work on- Trusting my dear Lord.

Scripture I am memorizing-

Psalm 139:16-

Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

I am praying for- My siblings. That they would grow in the Lord.

For the rest of the week- I plan to trust the Lord and follow his path.

Dear friends,

Today me, my mom and my sister went antique shopping! By now you must of found out that I *LOVE* vintage.

We had the greatest time! It's funny what some people call antique! But that's a story for another time. :)

How old to you think that this book is?

Well acording to this the book was given
to a little boy in 1926.

But......

According to copyright....

What a wonderful dedication!
I *love* it. .. My mom recommended
this book to me. She says it is a wonderful book.

The pictures are so sweet
in this book.

~But it looks like this book has been well loved throughout the years.

~Speaking of gloves is there anyone here that enjoys the Little Women by Louisa May Alcott?
When my little sister Abbie found this I fell in love with it.

I love the pictures in this book as well. It is nice how it has the chapter title

My little sister says that it looks like a dictionary.

So how long do you think it will take me to read it?

I mean if any book is made with a bookmark in
it your not likely to read it all in one sitting. :)

Here is my favorite Shakespeare play so far...
( Some of them are not that great by the way.
I would not recommend all the plays.)

Feelin' feminine Q and A .

My dear friend Jenna was kind enough to post these questions from the feelin' feminine challenge.

So here they are with my answers.

(1) How was the experience for you?

*It was wonderful to see so many other young women that dressed like I did. It was also fun to encourage others in dressing modestly. :)

(2) Any particular stories?

*None really. But in the past I have had some friends compliment me.

(3)Did wearing skirts rather than pants affect the way you felt?

*Yes it has always effected the way that I felt. It has made me feel like a lady.

(4)The way you felt about yourself?

*I felt very feminine and lovely. :)

(5) The way you acted?

*I guess I tended to act more like a lady then if I had worn pants.

(6) The way you carried yourself?

* I carried myself with the gracefulness that only a lady can have.

(7)Were you able to go about everyday activity as freely as pants?

*Absolutely. I was not hindered in the things I did. I just threw on a apron. :)

(8) How did people respond?

*In general the week of the challenge I did not notice anything different but I have at other times noticed that people respected me more for it.

(9) Were you more respected?

* See the question above.

(10) Did you feel more like a lady?

* Yes I diffidently did. :)

(11) After the challenge do you desire to keep wearing skirts more regularly, or were you desperate to wear pants again?

* I will always wear a skirt unless I am exercising or sledding in the winter. (If I do it when I am sledding in the winter I make sure that I wear a dress over it my pants.)

Today… April 12,20

Outside my window- I see the sun setting wonderful green grass and a green garden.

I am thinking- How many more things I have to do this evening! (Reading , writing, planning, cleaning etc. )

I am thankful for- The privilege of teaching children about the Lord.

I am wearing- A brown shirt, blue and white skirt, socks and some flats.

I am reading- The books that I have written. A number of Lamplighter books and the book Shape by Erik Rees.

I am creating- Some handmade cards.

One of my favorite things- Strawberries and oranges.

For education this week- Finishing up my homework for the year.
